The Kevin Hart and Ice Cube comedy ‘Ride Along’ has notched an impressive third week atop the box office.
The film took in $12.3 million and brings its domestic total to a hefty $92 million.
‘Frozen’ gets a little box office boost and lands in second place with $9.3 million. The film was re released as a sing along version into more than 1,000 theaters this past weekend. The unstoppable Disney movie is now in its 11th week at the box office.
The Zac Efron bromance comedy ‘That Awkward Moment’ opens up with a bronze medal and pulled in $9 million. Early predictions had the film actually taking the number one spot from ‘Ride Along’ by bringing in a guess-timate of $10-$12 million. ‘That Awkward Moment’ will still have the last laugh as it still will turn a profit as the film only cost $8 million to make.
‘The Nut Job’ is still hovering around the fourth place spot as it finished with $7.6 million.
Rounding out the top five is the Navy SEAL military flick ‘Lone Survivor’ which took in $7.2 million this Super Bowl weekend.
Next week, ‘Vampire Academy’ hopes to suck the life out of ‘Ride Along’ to claim the top spot. But first they will have to go through ‘The Lego Movie’ and ‘The Monument’s Men’ which will also hit theaters.
