The Boston Celtics may draft some place other than first overall after trade rumors swirl just a week away from the NBA draft, so they are doing their due diligence.

Projected to be drafted anywhere from fourth overall to eighth overall, it is interesting that the Celtics are giving him a meeting. Dennis Smith Jr. averaged 18.1 points, 6.2 assists, 4,6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game with North Carolina State last year while shooting 45% from the field and 36% from three point range.
Dennis Smith Jr. could be a fit next to Isaiah Thomas if the Celtics are re-signing the tiny scoring machine this offseason. This, however, raises questions about why the Celtics did not view Markelle Fultz the same way. The NBA never ceases to be interesting, even just one week after the Finals. We are now just six days away from the draft and plenty of interesting topics are sure to pop up.
