Isaiah Thomas played very well in his first ever playoff game. The Celtics were the definitive underdog in the game, but they managed to play with Cleveland behind Thomas’ strong play, leading for much of the first half, and keeping things relatively close for most of the second. Thomas went for 22 points, 10 assists, and 5 rebounds. Thomas was just the third player ever to put up these numbers in his playoff debut, and the other two players to do it are all-time greats.
The Celtics made Cleveland work for the win in game one, however they still wound up losing. They will need Thomas to shoot lights-out for this entire series if they want any chance at an upset.
