Like it or not, jersey sponsors are coming to the NBA. The Boston Celtics will become the third team to agree on a jersey sponsorship following the Philadelphia 76ers and the Sacramento Kings lead, per Darren Rovell.
Sources: Celtics will announce tomorrow a comprehensive deal with GE that will include putting its logo on jerseys starting next season.

Starting next season, the Celtic’s historic jerseys will now include a General Electric logo. The on court jerseys may include the company’s emblem, however, the jerseys sold nationally will remain without it. These recent additions come after the All-Star game jerseys have sported a “KIA” logo on them and a push from owners to start including more company logos on the court and on jerseys.
Being as the logos have remained relatively small, there has not been much push back against the implementation of logos on jerseys. It is commonly believed that as long as the NBA does not dip into the Nascar zone of ad usage, adding them will not be a big issue. And although the Celtics jerseys may be changing, at least they decided on a company that makes some of the better commercials on TV.
