Tuesday morning, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, and Charlize Theron made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. They were there to show off a new trailer for Bombshell and promote the upcoming film ahead of its December release date.
In the film, Theron and Kidman play the real-life Fox News anchors Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, respectively. Robbie plays Kayla Pospisil, a young wannabe-anchor who’s a fictionalized amalgamation of former Fox News employees interviewed for the film. Bombshell will tell the story of Kelly, Carlson, and Pospisil taking down the late Roger Ailes over sexual misconduct and harassment.
When the first trailer dropped earlier this year, everyone was blown away by Theron’s physical transformation into Kelly. And, as critics got their first look at the film over the weekend, that buzz has only grown. Surely the make-up and costume department will get at least a nomination for helping Theron’s transformation. But, so far it seems like she’s poised to take home her second Oscar for this role. The latest trailer certainly backs that up as she’s nearly unrecognizable as the former Fox anchor.
