Tonight is truly a night that fans of Griselda can appreciate. Leading the way, Benny The Butcher is delivering his new EP, Pyrex Picasso, with features from Rick Hyde, Conway The Machine and El Camino. Following closely behind, Westside Gunn is teaming up with Fabolous for the latest track from the Swizz Beatz produced The Godfather of Harlem soundtrack. Rounding out the night, Boldy James has linked up with Alchemist for a full-length project called Bo Jackson.
While both Boldy James and Alchemist are veterans in Hip-Hop, the two are fairly new acquaintances in this capacity. The two first put together a full-length project in 2020 with The Price of Tea in China. After working together in the late 2010s, they kept the momentum going as Boldy James found his way onto Griselda.
“I met [The Alchemist] at South by Southwest through Chuck. I flew out to L.A. to work on My 1st Chemistry Set maybe some six months after I first met him,” James told Hypebeast.
“He just wanted to see what the chemistry was between me and him on the production side and then he found out what I was capable of. On Price of Tea we took more time and made sure to slow cook the brick up.”
After taking the time to work on their project, the duo pulled in Benny The Butcher, Freddie Gibbs and Roc Marciano. Now, the finished product is here.
