The Brooklyn Nets season is mercifully coming to an end and with it come plenty of offseason questions. The team must look to sign a long-term coach while adding impactful players and assets in free agency.
While the team desperately needs an infusion of young talent, one of the few pieces that they do have seems to want to be a part of Brooklyn’s long-term plans.
In an interview with a Croation newspaper (translation through Nets Daily), Nets big-man Bojan Bogdanovic talked about his desire to continue forward with the franchise:
“I didn’t talk with GM about their plans for me, but I don’t believe I will end up in some trade,” Bogdanovic told .Hrvoje Sliskovic of Jutarnji. “I would like to stay.”
“I was better after All Star break.” he said, according to a translation.”Johnson’s departure went in my way, as did the coaching change I took Johnson’s portion of shots and coach Brown adjust some game sets to me. Coach Brown always supported me, and we have great relationship.”
Bogdanovic has had his moments in Brooklyn and the Nets would be wise to hold on to the sharp-shooting big-man. Bereft of talent and holding few draft picks in the near future, the Nets must hold on to the few pieces of home-grown talent that they can. Bogdanovic fits the mold and if he wants to stay in Brooklyn, the Nets should oblige him.
