Early on tonight, we have learned of the projected results of a few lopsided elections. Meanwhile in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren cruised to reelection. Elsewhere n Indiana, Greg Pence cruised to his first congressional seat in Indiana’s sixth district. In contrast, there many hotly contested races that have yet to be determined. Down south in Georgia, it appears that the gubernatorial race between Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp may not be decided tonight. In Florida, Andrew Gillum may have to wait a day or so to learn the status of his race for governor. However, one of those hotly contest races appears to be decided. In one of the most hard fought midterm elections, Bob Menendez is projected to defeat Bob Hugin en route to reelection.
With approximately half of the votes in, Bob Menendez appears to have eked out a close win in a race that became uncomfortably close for the Menendez campaign this summer. Over the past year, the politician has embroiled in scandal after scandal. During his run in the Senate, he has faced numerous allegations of corruption, bribery, misuse of funds and much more. Still, the hill was too steep to climb for Republican opponent, Bob Hugin. The state of New Jersey has yet to elect a Republican senator in the 21st century and for now, that will not change.
