Indiana center Roy Hibbert, who broke through for his first All-Star appearance last season, is leaning towards signing with the Portland Trailblazers after they offered him a maximum contract. Hibbert is a restricted free agent, meaning the Pacers have the right to match any offer made but since they didn’t offer him a max deal from the outset they may not be prepared to match the Blazers offer for the 7-footer.
The Blazers are believed to have made a $58 million offer sheet. The Pacers would then have three days to match the offer and retain the services of the emerging defensive force.
