Oh Kim Hughes you blabber mouth. Why did you start flapping your lips about LaMarcus Aldridge eh?
If you don’t know why Trail Blazers Assistant Coach Kim Hughes was fired, let me fill you in. For the past couple of months, it seemed pretty clear that LaMarcus Aldridge was out of Portland. I mean it wasn’t official until today but it was common knowledge that he’d be suiting up for another team next season.
But we all don’t work for the Portland Trail Blazers, but Tim Hughes does. So when he admitted that Aldridge was gone, the Blazers fired him.
“We can confirm Mr. Hughes is no longer with the team,” Neil Olshey, Blazers president of basketball operations, said on Saturday. “It is our policy to otherwise refrain from commenting on personnel matters.”
Hughes, who has been the Blazers’ big man coach for the past three seasons, told WTHI television that Aldridge was leaving the Blazers in free agency, which enraged team officials, who said Hughes had no knowledge of the team’s free agent proceedings.
You never talk about stuff like this if you’re actually PART of said stuff. You pull this stunt in an intelligence agency and you’re getting canned and then some.
I wouldn’t think it’d be hard for Hughes to find another job. Just as long as he stops flapping his gums.
