Evan Turner’s run with the Portland Trail Blazers thus far has been less than stellar. The swingman got off to a horrible start with his new team, and after signing a huge contract in the offseason, many were hoping for him to take the next step in his career.
The first two months of this season were horrible for Turner. He was averaging less than 10 points per game, shooting about 44 percent from the field but under 30 percent from three-point range. But since the start of the new year, Turner has been improving not only his percentages but scoring at a higher clip and shooting better. Unfortunately for the former Collegiate National Player of the Year and number two overall pick, he suffered a broken hand.
In the second half of the Blazers matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, Turner was trying to fight around a screen and got his hand caught on an opponent.
The announcement was made official by the Blazers.
