Blake Harris, a four-star recruit hailing from Word of God in North Carolina, announced his decision to attend the University of Missouri via Twitter. His decision comes just a day after Michael Porter Jr., viewed as the No. 1 prospect by many outlets, posted a picture of himself, Harris and uncommitted five-star recruit Kevin Knox together in Missouri jerseys.

Like Porter, Harris had verbally committed to continue his basketball career at the University of Washington. What hindered both top recruits from heading there was the firing of Huskies head coach Lorenzo Romar.

The firing led to Harris re-opening his commitment and considering NC State, Michigan State, Connecticut, Rutgers and more as possible destinations. Ultimately, it came down to the Spartans and Tigers, and it was Mizzou that won him over.
“It was hard, but I know that was the right decision,” Harris told Def Pen.
Harris sees himself heading into a situation where he’s surrounded “with great coaches and players.” One of those players being Porter Jr., and the other possibly being Knox.
“I want to win the whole thing, and Michael and I wanted to play together since summer,” Harris said.
Harris has his mind set on a national championship, and with the team currently rebuilding with their eyes on top talent, why not them? He already views himself as “a true point guard that likes to lead the team,” so, why not lead the way to win it all? Especially, depending, on how the season goes, this could be the only season he and Porter Jr. are on the court together.
