Blake Griffin was traded to the Detroit Pistons in a blockbuster deal that took social media by storm. The trade got out everywhere in a matter of minutes, and Blake Griffin found out that he was traded to the Pistons the same time we all did.
The trade took Blake Griffin off guard and he was surprised that he had been traded from the Detroit Pistons.
“Shocked is a good way to put it,” Griffin said during his introductory news conference after the trade went down.

Blake acknowledged that finding out the Clippers had moved on from him was tough, however, he’s excited to start off fresh with a new organization. Although disappointed that he had to find out through Twitter instead of the organization, it seems as if Blake is ready to move on and give the Detroit Pistons his all.

“Basketball is a business, the NBA is a business, and they made a decision,” Griffin told ESPN. “The only thing I just wish I had known or had the opportunity to talk to somebody beforehand. Finding out through Twitter, through other people is a tough way to find out when you’ve been with a franchise for so long. But at the end of the day, basketball is a business, and I want to play where a team wants me. And that’s why I’m excited about being here.”

Blake Griffin spent 7 years with the Los Angeles Clippers and gave them some quality moments with his electrifying jams and some entertaining highlights as well. It will be interesting to see how Blake Griffin will showcase his talents alongside Andre Drummond and the Detroit Pistons moving forward.
