We all know that Blake Griffin has a liking to the limelight. On the basketball court, it’s with his penchant for gravity-defying dunks. Off of it, it’s with hilarious commercials and stand-up routines.
Griffin is taking his talent of commanding attention to a whole new level.
According to Deadline.com, Fox has ordered a pilot presentation for Okies of Bel Air. This is an animated show executive produced by Griffin and borrowing from aspects of his life. The show is written by Sean O’Conner of The Late Late Show with 20th Century Fox and Imagine TV partnering to make it possible.
O’Conner confirmed the story:
Beyond excited to announce that me and my two best friends (@blakegriffin32 and @BrianGrazer) sold a show to FOX. https://t.co/uv0RFFHb6I

The plot of the story is as follows, via Deadline:
In the vein of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Beverly Hills Hillbillies, Okies of Bel Air is the story of a family of humble Oklahoma catfish farmers who, after their basketball prodigy son is chosen first overall in the NBA draft, pack up and move to the tony enclave of Bel Air, where they’ll struggle to preserve their down-home sensibilities amidst a vast cultural wasteland where Kardashian reigns supreme and pressed juice is considered a viable alternative to childhood vaccinations.
Blake Griffin will be a part of the creative process of the show as his basketball schedule permits. He is partnering with four other Executive Producers.
Finally, we get to see Griffin’s creative chops in action.
