I don’t know what to think when I hear Blake Griffin’s name. Whenever I watch him take a jumpshot with that butt-ugly motion I just say to the screen “stick to dunking mate”. But then he gets a triple double and I simply shut my mouth.
But that’s a personal thing I find irksome about Griffin. What all of you don’t like about him is when he gets in a tussle. For some reason you see Griffin as a nuisance even when he’s the guy getting batted around. And once again he has to talk about it.
“My entire career everybody says I need to punch somebody,” Griffin said. “I never have. The playoffs isn’t any different. I’m definitely not going to do something like that.”
“Hard fouls are a part of playoff basketball, and I think that’s how basketball should be,” Griffin said. “I don’t take those fouls personally. My job is to go hit some free throws. We have to keep in mind what the bigger picture is, and that’s ultimately winning.“
That’s a very commendable attitude I guess, but there comes a time when it gets a bit too much. He may not have swung at anybody yet but I can seriously see a day when he will just snap on somebody.
I hope that guy meditates or something. I’d need some smelling salts or something right after a game where I take hard fouls here, there and everywhere.
