Los Angeles Clippers were recently in Las Vegas this past weekend to take on the Denver Nuggets at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Allegedly, Griffin and a few teammates went out and visited the TAO club in Las Vegas. At the club is allegedly where an assault took place between Griffin and another man.
Here’s the report from TMZ.com, as told by the Los Angeles Times.
A 39-year-old man listed only as Daniel filed a complaint with LVMPD on Sunday listing Griffin as a suspect, a spokesman for the police department said Wednesday…
TMZ quoted Daniel as saying that Griffin “slapped me in the right side of my face…”
The case will be assigned to a detective who will review the case to determine if “appropriate charges are necessary,” (a police) spokesman said.
There have been no charges filed at this time but Daniel claims it was battery committed by Griffin. The altercation apparently started when Daniel was taking pictures on his cell phone, Griffin then went, took his phone and attempted to erase the photos, but apparently there are conflicting stories on how serious this issue is and how physical it got between the two. This isn’t the first time Griffin has been involved in an alleged altercation, if you remember his run in or non issue with pop star Justin Bieber.
Blake Griffin has not commented on the situation. Both the Clippers and the NBA are aware of the investigation but have not yet commented either.
