New York based director Aristotle Torres has released “Story 2 Tell”, a visual take on Biggie’s Life After Death record, “I Got A Story To Tell,” turning the record into an 8-minute thrilling short film.
If you are unfamiliar with the 1997 track, Biggie raps about a New York Knicks player coming home early to find Big in his bed with his girlfriend. The late rapper pulls out a gun on him to avoid any conflict and takes a $1,000 from the NBA player.
The film shows Biggie’s character who’s named “Wallace” laying in bed with an NBA baller’s wife. Just like in the song, when the Knicks player comes home, Wallace turns the situation into a stick up and leaves with some heavy cash — $100,000 in a Prada bag to be exact.
The film stars Yeezy Season model, Amina Blue as the NBA girlfriend, Delano Barbosa as the NBA baller and Ade Otukoya as “Wallace”, Biggie’s character. Hot 97 Radio Host Peter Rosenberg also provides some vocal work in the clip.
“I Got A Story To Tell” was released nearly two decades ago. The victim in Biggie’s story had long been a myth until it was recently brought back into the limelight after rapper Fat Joe revealed that the Knicks player Biggie was talking about on the song was the late Anthony Mason.
“I could tell you, but I don’t want to be disrespectful, but it was about Anthony Mason…But you gotta also know that rappers–This is entertainment. We stretch the truth. We change things up,”
Fat Joe said, during an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable.
