Big K.R.I.T has made his grand return with the release of his “So Cool” video. Complete with appearances from Karlous Miller, Akeem Ali and several other stars, the comedic visual takes place at a 1970s new station where Ali, Miller and Big K.R.I.T battle to become the next news anchor. When envision the video, think Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy meets 1970s blaxploitation movies with a sprinkle of the 85 South Show. That’s a really complicated way of saying that it’s really well-done and funny.
As for the music, the Mississippi native always delivers. While it’s been a minute since Big K.R.I.T has popped up with a new video, his resume is solid and indicates that he won’t drop something unless its of the highest quality. The smooth, yet funky production fits his tone perfectly as he floats from verse to verse.
“When I get hot like the summer/When th? AC on, the light bill turn up/You wanna cuddle when I think I might burn up/I’m feeling licky, so I might play th? numbers/I’m on the come up/Gotta get mine,” he raps.
Big K.R.I.T’s “So Cool” sets the stage for his upcoming album. Earlier this month, he let fans know that he was done working on the project. All we need now is a release date. In the meantime, check out the “So Cool” video below.
