
Big Boi is preparing for a major role in an upcoming biopic for TV One.
According to Broadway World, Big Boi will be playing Motown founder Berry Gordy in an upcoming Bobby DeBarge biopic. The Bobby DeBarge Story will, “explores the tumultuous life of the former lead singer of the 70’s R&B/Funk Band Switch, also the eldest sibling of the world-famous pop group DeBarge.”
The film will also delve into DeBarge’s struggle, “with fame and fortune while coping with the memories of his dysfunctional childhood.”
In addition to the OutKast rapper, Greenleaf’s Roshon Fegan will serve as the lead role of Bobby DeBarge, Adrian Marcel as James DeBarge, Lloyd as Switch member Gregory Williams, and Tyra Ferrell as Etterlene DeBarge.
The biopic written by Norman Vance Jr. and directed by Russ Parr, is set to premiere on TV One this June.
