According to a report from Screen Rant, Beyonce is nearing a deal to portray Nala in the upcoming live action ‘Lion King’ reboot. The rumor has been floating around for quite some time though this is the first time it appears to be gaining some legitimate steam. The news originally stems from a report from The Tracking Board’s Jeff Sneider in which he was discussing the casting of Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother.
If the deal goes through this would be a massive boost for an already hugely anticipated film. Beyonce’s last film role was in Dreamworks ‘Epic’ back in 2013. Though Beyonce’s career has taken a massive uptick since then. Beyonce released the first of her two groundbreaking visual albums in the fall of 2013. Catapulting her from one of music’s biggest stars to arguably its biggest. It’s no surprise that Disney appears to also want Queen B to be heavily involved with the soundtrack with Sneider’s report also stating that Disney wants her to be the “Elton John” of the new live action version of the film.
