It’s the holiday season and everyone is in the season of giving, including Beyoncé. Through her BeyGood Foundation, Beyoncé donated $500,000 to families facing eviction.
“The housing moratorium is set to end on December 26th, resulting in mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions. Many families are impacted, due to the pandemic that resulted in job loss, sickness and overall economic downturn,” Beyoncé and the BeyGood Foundation said.
This is not the first time that the superstar has given back during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of the year, the Grammy winner has partnered with organizations to offer food, housing, necessary supplies and free COVID-19 testing. Most notably, she opened a fund to help small businesses.
Applications for the $500,000 fund will remain open through January 7, 2021. Recipients will receive $5,000 towards rent or mortgage.
