Unfortunately, another show has bit the dust at BET+. After two seasons, the Will Packer-produced comedy series, Bigger, has been canceled. Executive producer Felischa Marye confirmed the unfortunate news via Twitter on Monday afternoon.
“We’re sad to announce that [Bigger] will not get a third season. We know, we know. We can’t believe it either, but want to say to thanks to our Bigger ‘hive’ for being such loyal and passionate fans,” Marye tweeted.
“We wanted to give audiences a hardcore funny comedy with a big heart, and our fans were there for it, so we thank you! We had a lovely dinner last week to end the year, while ending such a special show.”
As described by Deadline, the two season run centered around Layne, a single Black woman navigating love, friendships and work.
“Created by Marye, the 10-episode first season of Bigger follows single-black-woman Layne and her close-knit group of friends as they navigate love, friendships, career ambitions and the journey to getting bigger, together. When a college acquaintance suddenly dies, the group is forced to take a deeper look at their messy lives,” the description reads, according to Deadline.
At this time, there is no word as to whether or not Marye and Packer will shop the series at other streaming platforms.
