It’s not every day that viewers witness a tie at an awards ceremony. However, the BET Hip-Hop Awards aren’t the average award show. This year, the “Best Hip-Hop Platform” category was stacked as it has been in past years. Not only were Swizz Beatz and Timbaland recognized for continuing to build the Verzuz platform, but The Breakfast Club was also nominated more than a decade into their run on radio. However, neither of those world-renowned platforms took home the top prize. Instead, Clifford “T.I.” Harris revealed that Revolt’s Caresha Please and Drink Champs tied for the award.
This year, N.O.R.E and DJ EFN took an already successful platform and elevated it to new heights. They’ve made headlines, created controversy and sparked discussions while interviewing the likes of Issa Rae, Mike Tyson, Kevin Hart, Irv Gotti, LL Cool J, Ice Cube and many others. Not to mention, they’ve even interviewed the host of the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards, Fat Joe.
While Caresha Please is a newer platform, Yung Miami has wasted no time making her mark in the music media space. In just a few months, she’s sat down with Diddy, Kevin Gates, Megan Thee Stallion and many others. As the year comes to a close, there’s no telling what she may have in store for her viewers.
