Benny The Butcher was reportedly hospitalized after an attempted robbery in Houston.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Walmart while the Buffalo native was talking to friends. A car with multiple people then pulled up to the best-selling artist and demanded he give them his chain. One of the people in the car then shot the rapper in the leg multiple times before pulling off. From there, Benny The Butcher was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation in to the weekend’s shooting. However, no suspects have been identified at this time.
The attempted robbery comes at a tumultuous time in the entertainment industry. This month, rising stars King Von and MO3 were killed in separate shootings. Just before Benny The Butcher was shot in the leg, Boosie was also shot in Texas after attending a vigil for MO3. Not to mention, Pop Smoke, Nipsey Hussle and several other artists have been killed within the last two years due to gun violence.
