Ben Simmons plans to make his long-awaited Brooklyn Nets debut in game four against the Boston Celtics during the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Speculation was that after continuing to rehab his injury he was getting closer to a return to the court. Simmons has not played since the 2021 NBA Playoffs. He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets this season in the blockbuster James Harden trade. Brooklyn currently trails Boston 2-0 and will be down either 2-1 or 3-0 when Simmons makes his season debut. Game Four is set for Monday, April 25th.

Ben Simmons’ role in game four has not been specified, but it would make sense that it would be limited considering he hasn’t played an NBA game in about a year. Still, it will be encouraging for the Brooklyn Nets to see their forward back on the court after trading for him. If the team hopes to make a comeback and make the second round they will need to win game three before Simmons debuts in game four.

It has been a rocky road to this point for Ben Simmons, but this can be a new starting point for him to get back to his defensive player of the year capabilities. Injuries and other things have slowed him down, but all of that can be reset on Monday. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will surely be happy to have him on the court with them.
