Now when players say stuff like this i have to firstly look at who the person is. If it’s not a 10+ years veteran who’s been around the block a few times, then I don’t take it seriously.
And let’s be honest. Ben Simmons has been an NBA player for like a month. He hasn’t even played an NBA game yet. He hasn’t been a free agent. He knows nothing about team situations and what is a good one. Maybe Philadelphia looks good to him on the face but maybe other teams have better situations. But let’s not dampen his confidence at this early stage. He’s enjoying his time in Philadelphia, give it some time.
“It is pretty perfect,” Simmons said of being surrounded by familiar faces in Philadelphia. “I could not be in a better situation.“
“I’ve learned everyone’s game pretty well over the past two weeks,” Simmons said. “We have grown a lot from Utah to here.“
He also says he got re-acquainted with Okafor and Embiid — two guys he has known since high school.
“I’ve known them since 10th grade so we have had that chemistry for a while,” Simmons said. “As soon as we hit the court, hopefully it is the same. I am looking forward to playing with them.“
I understand that he gets along with everyone, that’s great to hear. But that’s just one slice of a very large cake. I genuinely hope he has these positive feelings once the Sixers miss another postseason.
