ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Sixers are preparing to play without Ben Simmons far beyond the two-week timeline. How long exactly Philadelphia will be without one of their core stars will remain unknown, certainly a worrying sign for the Sixers.
It has been a very up and down season for the Sixers, who have NBA championship aspirations this season. Losing Ben Simmons for the foreseeable future, at a time when the team is struggling to stay in the top half of the Eastern Conference. They went out and acquired both Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks from the Golden State Warriors to try and bolster the bench unit. However, both of those guys provide shooting, something the Sixers do not lose with Simmons out. They will need to find a way to replace the playmaking capability and defensive prowess the young point guard brings to the table.
