(Dec. 5) Beanie Sigel was the victim of an unfortunate shooting outside his Pleasantville home in New Jersey this morning. The Philly rapper had just came home from dropping off his children at school when the apparent fight broke out near his house. The shooting occurred at 9:20 a.m. along the 800 block of Sprunce Avenue in Pleasantville, New Jersey, according to the police.
Sigel’s is attorney Fortunato Perri, Jr. believes he wasn’t the intended target. The Broad Street Bully sustained a wound to the stomach and has been taken to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he is undergoing surgery.
A man was taken into custody as the police chased down a car believed to be involved in the shooting.
UPDATE: The Associated Press has reported that Beanie Sigel has awakened from surgery.
Authorities and Sigel’s lawyer initially called the wound life-threatening, but hospital officials told police that the 40-year-old rapper was awake Friday afternoon after surgery, Pleasantville police Chief Jose Ruiz told The Associated Press. Investigators were on their way to try to interview him, he said.
