Battery charges filed against rapper DaBaby in Florida have been dropped.
Stemming from a January 2020 incident taking place in Miami, DaBaby is clear of a criminal case. According to TMZ, the Miami-Dade attorney’s office has dropped the battery charge. The dropped charge is due to one alleged victim refusing to cooperate.
The battery charges being dropped however does not erase all of DaBaby’s legal issues surrounding the alleged attack. Charges robbery remain on the books of the North Carolina rapper. The alleged victim, Kenneth Carey a concert promoter claims DaBaby and others physically harmed him, stealing money, a cellphone, and a credit card over a business deal.
Carey is also placing a civil lawsuit against DaBaby for $6 million in damages.
Beyond his legal woes, DaBaby is booked for multiple music festivals this year including the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, and Roots Picnic in Philadelphia this spring. He recently celebrated the 1-year anniversary of his breakout album Baby On Baby.
