Coming off arguably his most productive season as a professional, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback finds himself in some hot water off the field after a recent arrest. Breeland and two accomplices were arrested Tuesday night in South Carolina on multiple charges according to York County police’s online records. Breeland’s charges included resisting arrest, driving with an open container of alcohol and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. According to ESPN, Breeland was released from jail on $2,362.50 bond.
In the arrest report, it states that Breeland and two men were sharing a marijuana blunt at a local gas station. When approached by the York County patrol vehicle, all three attempted to leave the scene. The blunt was thrown into Breeland’s car and after being told he was being detained, Breeland tried to push away. The officer drew both his taser and firearm in the process but Breeland eventually submitted and was handcuffed. Breeland handed over his phone and was released hours later from York County Jail on bond. The entire arrest report can be read below courtesy of 610Sports’ Cody Tapp.

The Chiefs reportedly have been made aware of Breeland’s latest run-in with South Carolina authorities but have yet to release a statement. Breeland will be heading into his second season with Kansas City after signing a one-year extension just weeks ago.
Prior to joining the Chiefs last season, Bashaud Breeland played four seasons with the Washington Redskins and also played a year in Green Bay. Breeland was an instrumental part of Kansas City’s Super Bowl run, helping transform their defense into one of the league’s better units when it mattered during their playoff run.
