Nobody really knows what President Barack Obama will do after leaving Office next January. According to ESPN, press secretary Josh Earnest said that Obama would like to become an NBA Owner:
Earnest said Wednesday that the president, well known for being a big fan of Chicago sports teams, has “discussed” being part of an ownership group for an NBA franchise. Earnest added that Obama would pursue the opportunity “potentially … under the right circumstances.”
Obama has fantasized about owning an NBA team before. He said that he would love to become an owner of an NBA team. Obama is a huge Chicago guy, and I can only imagine that he would like to own the Bulls. Obama’s job as President of the United States has been stressful, so I think it would be good for him to take a step back and run an NBA franchise once he gets out of office.
I don’t foresee the Bulls ownership group stepping down anytime soon, so it is unlikely that he will own the Bulls unless he waits a while. Obama will probably become an owner of a team outside of Illinois, but I’m sure he will enjoy owning any team even if it isn’t the Bulls.
