The Boston Celtics were in for a great surprise this year, because they made the NBA Playoffs, and played the Cleveland Cavaliers, which gave them invaluable experience. The young squad full of role players is there, now what superstar player is willing to lead them? The Boston Celtics think it will be DeMarcus Cousins.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN:
“Will they open their war chest of future draft picks to try to pry DeMarcus Cousins away from the Sacramento via trade? The early word out there is: Bank on it.”
The Boston Celtics have enough money to sign a player, and try to trade for another player. If you keep your core role players of Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and Evan Turner together, while getting a guy like DeMarcus Cousins, Boston could be poised for a title run soon.
Due to the fact that Kevin Love is probably not going to be a Boston Celtic after getting his shoulder dislocated by Kelly Olynyk in the 1st round, which means the Celtics have moved on to DeMarcus.
The Celtics will also look to try to sign a LaMarcus Aldridge, or DeAndre Jordan, but they have their eyes set on Cousins. It’s very unlikely that the Kings will be willing to let DeMarcus go, but if he wants to leave, they might have to let him go.
