There are few arenas that Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is unfamiliar with. Whether its Madison Square Garden or the STAPLES Center, Babyface has graced nearly every major stage in the world and delivered memorable performances of his greatest hits. This afternoon, he won’t be performing a song of his own creation and he won’t be stepping on to a stage that he has frequented beforehand. This year, he has been selected to sing “America, The Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVII.
While Babyface may be unfamiliar with State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, he will not be overwhelmed. The prolific hitmaker has been writing and producing records since his days at North Central High School in Indianapolis. A younger generation may know him for his Verzuz performance back in 2020, but he’s been collaborating with the likes of Usher, TLC, Brandy, Mary J. Blige and many others for decades.
Babyface has continued to make his presence felt with a newer generation. Within the last few years, he’s teamed up with the likes of Lucky Daye, Ella Mai and Kehlani.
