
Atlanta Hawks guard Tyler Dorsey was reportedly arrested and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants according to KVAL in Eugene, Oregon. KVAL reports that Dorsey was driving without his lights on.
“The vehicle came to a rolling stop, and then rolled forward again before coming to a complete stop,” Eugene . “Upon speaking with Dorsey, the officer suspected impairment. There was an open container of alcohol on the passenger side floorboard. After an investigation, Dorsey was charged with DUII, Driving without Lights, and Open Container.”
Dorsey played at the University of Oregon in Eugene, leading the team to the Final Four. Atlanta selected him in the second-round and played in 56 games. He averaged 7.2 points per game for the season, shooting 37.7 percent from the floor.
The Hawks made a statement, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, saying the team is aware of Dorsey’s arrest but would make no further comments on the subject. The statement as follows, via Peachtree Hoops:
“We are aware of the situation involving Tyler Dorsey that occurred this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon. We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.“
