The injury bug strikes the Atlanta Hawks. Hopefully the team with the best record in one month in the history of the NBA will not see this become a trend. Defensive specialist, Thabo Sefolosha, is going to be out due to a right calf strain.
Hawks’ starting forward DeMarree Carroll is also fighting a left Achilles strain and Shelvin Mack, a backup point guard who has a left calf strain both also missed the Hawks game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hawks say forward Thabo Sefolosha is out approximately 6-8 weeks with a right calf strain.

Sefolosha for a long time was the primary wing defender for the Oklahoma City Thunder, before they decided to go younger with Andre Roberson.
While Sefolosha only averages 5 points per game and 4 rebounds per game he does play about 20 minutes per game this season for the Hawks, coming off the bench to provide elite wing defense, a spot where their starting 2 guard Kyle Korver, might not exactly be strong in.
Sefolosha’s minutes may be supplemneted by former Los Angeles Lakers guard, Kent Bazemore, who is very similar to Sefolosha in game style. Bazemore might not be as good of a defender but he is a little bit of a better scorer than Thabo. Either way, this loss might see a shortening of the rotation in Atlanta and may threaten the 19 game winning streak they are currently on.
