The Atlanta Hawks got the job done again in a big, record breaking way. The Hawks played the Phoenix Suns tonight and absolutely crushed them 96 to 69. The win was the teams 58th win of the season, a franchise record.
Atlanta had three players that lead the game in scoring- regular starters DeMarre Carroll, Jeff Teague, and the player that started for Paul Millsap (but doesn’t get much time normally), Mike Muscala. Muscala also had 7 rebounds and 5 steals. They all scored 16 points, and Al Horford also scored 14 points. Every player that was on the court tonight put the ball in the hoop, showing how well Atlanta passes the ball.
It wasn’t a good shooting night overall from the Hawks (49% from the field and 14% from three), but they played amazing defense. They only allowed the Suns to score more than 20 points in one quarter. The Hawks easily handled the Suns in the game, and they were not letting them score any points tonight in the record breaking win.
Phoenix wouldn’t be outdone though, they almost set a franchise record of their own in the game. They were a point off of setting the record for lowest scoring total in franchise history reports Paul Caro of the AZCentral.
The Suns need to score 2 points to avoid breaking a 34-year-old franchise scoring low (68 vs. Kansas City). Got 2:07 to do it. #SunsAtHawks

The Suns did not score the ball well at all. Eric Bledsoe, who was ejected in the third quarter due to two technical fouls, was the teams second leading scorer with just 9 points. Gerald Green led the Suns on the night with 15 points. They did not shoot well either, shooting 26-83 (31.3%) from the field and they only hit 4 of 20 threes (20%).
The Hawks impressed the NBA yet again with the outstanding defense they played, and the ability of getting everyone on the team involved. This is the second great accomplishment the team has set; the other being clinching the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks will look to continue to win games and increase their franchise wins record.
