It’s no secret that the Atlanta Hawks have been shopping Jeff Teague, and could blow up the roster. Many teams are interested in Teague, who was an All-Star last season. Teams that have been linked to Teague in reports include the Jazz and Knicks The latest teams to consider acquiring Teague are the Indiana Pacers and the Orlando Magic.
From ESPN’s Kevin Arnovitz and Brian Windhorst:
The Hawks have been gauging the market for point guard Teague, who has started 345 games for Atlanta over the past four and a half seasons. Sources say the Indiana Pacers have made inquiries and have dangled guard George Hill as a possible swap. The Magic are also potential suitors for Teague, sources confirmed.
Teague is originally from Indianapolis, so he would be “going home,” a common theme in today’s NBA. If we’re looking at a straight-up Teague for Hill swap, I don’t know why Atlanta does this deal. Teague is the better player between the two. Also, if Atlanta wants Teague out, that seems indicative that they feel that Dennis Schroeder is ready to be their starting point guard, so why would they trade for another point guard? It just doesn’t make sense, unless they get another valuable asset from the Pacers.
