Hip-Hop has never had much in the name of child prodigies. Jaden and Willow Smith are probably the closest examples of this in modern times, but in the past we’ve seen acts like Shad Moss and Romeo go from being kid superstars to adults in entertainment. In many ways, The Astronomical Kid, now known as Stro, is the same, but it also very different. The Brooklyn emcee got his name out there back in 2012 when his X Factor audition went viral. The song he performed, “Stop Looking At My Mom”, was both catchy and justified for his age. Since then, we’ve seen Stro grow from a pre-teen on the X Factor stage to a young, twenty something who is proving to be one of the best lyricists in the game. Since stepping foot on the X-Factor stage back in 2011, Astro has released a bevy of projects including, Grade A Frequencies and Computer Love, to features with Cher Lloyd.
Today, Stro delivered his newest piece of work. Jumping on the latest release from Pusha T, Astro freestyles over Daytona‘s intro, “If You Know, You Know”. Starting with the first verse, Astro comes across focused when he raps, “Shoutout to Pusha/But who’s a better pick?/Nobody knows like booger/My rap style is brighter, whiter than the cook-up/Whiter than the Complex staff/I’m on a whole other path/I’m too advanced for reviews/They’re still learning sh*t.”
