Reports of A$AP Rocky being detained in inhumane prison conditions following an arrest in Sweden are now refuted by the rapper’s lawyer.
Taken into custody after engaging in a street fight, fans and A$AP Rocky’s Hip-Hop peers have called for his release. Initially, A$AP Rocky’s conditions allegedly fell well below human standards. According to TMZ, the Harlem rapper slept on only a yoga mat, stayed in close proximity to an inmate throwing feces and did not receive any meals.
The gross conditions made out however may not exist after all. Henrik Olsson Lilja, legal counsel for A$AP Rocky made public statements regarding his treatment. The Fader reports that according to Lilja, A$AP Rocky never spoke with TMZ.
“He has never talked to TMZ or any third party regarding the circumstances when he was arrested, ie when he was in the prison. He was then treated and treated properly. However, he has experienced the conditions in the arrest as very simple and has experienced that it smells urine in the cell in the arrest. However, not in detention. The conditions in the arrest cell can in that respect be criticized.”
