A$AP Mob is forever and its frontman, A$AP Rocky, is here to make sure that his music is remembered forever. Exactly three years after releasing his sophomore album, A$AP Rocky has released his third album, Testing. The fifteen track album features the likes of Dev Hynes, Frank Ocean, French Montana, Juicy J, Kodak Black, Skepta, FKA Twigs, Moby, T.I. and Kid Cudi. In addition, Rocky’s newest effort features production from Clams Casino, Blood Orange, Rico Love, Boi-1da and Jim Jonsin.
On the album, Rocky tests out a number of new sounds and looks for his musical pursuits. Throughout the course of the album, the Harlem native experiments with samples from jazz musicians like Roger Webb, soul legends like Lee Fields’ and guitarists like Dave Bixby. Testing also features artists sounding out of the ordinary. Testing supplies fans with a rap verse from Frank Ocean, a rare verse from Kid Cudi and FKA Twigs on a rap album. From top to bottom, Testing is a wild ride and the biggest evolution of Rocky’s music to date.
Going forward, A$AP Rocky appears to be ascending into the prime of his career. With Rocky’s fashion career, acting career and music career functioning at their highest levels, the Harlem native will definitely continue to be a factor in the entertainment world for decades to come.
