
A$AP Rocky entered a not guilty plea on assault charges during a criminal case in Sweden where the Harlem rapper remains in custody.
According to CBS News, the trial began Tuesday with allotted time on Thursday and Friday as well although the trial may not need all three days. A$AP Rocky and two members of his crew are accused of targeting and attacking Mustafa Jafari however the rapper and entourage claim self-defense.
A video of the incident uploaded to social media shows the encounter and the violence that occurred between the two parties. Following the incident, Swedish authorities placed A$AP Rocky under arrest, sparking the #JusticeForRocky movement, with even President Trump calling for the release of the Harlem rapper.
Now, as the trial continues, A$AP Rocky could face up to two years behind bars if convicted. The trial, held in a private courtroom due to large media interest, did not allow photography or filming inside.
With his mother by his side in court, A$AP Rocky still has the support of friends, fans, and politicians across the country.
