We’re far away from the days of Dwight Freeney killing offensive tackles with his devastating spin move on a regular basis. Over the last two seasons, Freeney spent time with the San Diego Chargers and after the season was over, many believed that the pass rushers career was over.
Now it appears that Freeney will be rejoining an old coach of his. He going to join Bruce Arians already stout Arizona Cardinals defense most likely as a situational pass rusher.

The Arizona Cardinals have reached an agreement on a one-year contract with veteran pass rusher Dwight Freeney, according to a source.
Freeney passed a physical with the team earlier Monday.
Freeney and Cardinals defensive coordinator Jason Betcher worked together in 2012 with the Indianapolis Colts.
Freeney is expected to have a limited role in pass-rush situations after outside linebacker Alex Okafor suffered a calf injury Sunday against the Lions.
Bruce Arians coached Dwight when he was the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2012 while Chuck Pagano was battling his leukemia diagnosis.
Throughout his 13 year NFL career, Freeney won the Super Bowl in 2007, he has been named to the Pro Bowl seven times, named a four-time All-Pro, named the AFC defensive player of the year in 2005, he’s a member of the 100 career sacks club and a member of the 2000’s NFL All-Decade team.
Freeney is a sure fire Hall-Of-Fame player but this last run with a dominant team in the NFC West could be Freeney’s last run as an effective NFL player.
