The laundry list of problems in Cleveland with the Cavaliers, is long.
Kevin Love’s contract issues. On again and off again.
What about not one but 2 trades that went down last week for 3 players?
Did we forget that LeBron, ever the business man, has also said he wouldn’t ‘hesitate leaving Cleveland’ if the Cavs underperform?
Even assistant coach Tyronn Lue running into a fan and faced an embarrassing moment as well.
Today, news came out that Cavaliers young forward Tristan Thompson rejected a contract extension earlier in the season.
Now ESPN.com’s Brian Windhorst saying that coach David Blatt’s future is at a ‘stare down’ between the players and front office.
Windhorst went on to say the following on ESPN.com:
Still wearing part of his uniform after another loss, Kevin Love emerged from the visitors locker room Tuesday night and immediately buttonhooked into the adjacent practice gym at US Airways Center. Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin was on his heels.
It isn’t just the casinos that are agape at how this is playing out — the Cavs were 4-15 in their past 19 games against the spread coming in to Tuesday — so are league scouts, executives and rival players.
They see players appearing to run different plays than the bench calls, see assistant coach Tyronne Lue calling timeouts literally behind Blatt’s back during games, and hear Cavs players openly talking about coaching issues with opposing players and personnel. Not once, not twice, but frequently over the past several months.
For weeks now, the small talk when league personnel run into each other at college games, airports or pregame meals has frequently started with: “What the hell is going on in Cleveland?”
It’s quite the mess in Cleveland. Now we just have to sit and wait for the Cavaliers, who are on a little losing streak, to decide where they go next.
