It doesn’t have a name or pricing plan as yet, but Apple‘s streaming video service could launch as soon as this Easter according to a new report.
The Information (via The Verge) reports that the tech company has spoken with various studios and networks whose offerings will be available through the service that they have to be “ready for launch by mid-April.” Both A24 and the Oprah Winfrey Network have signed multiyear picture deals with Apple.
The report also indicates the streaming service is expected to launch ‘within several weeks’ of mid-April, not long after Disney’s planned ‘preview launch’ of Disney+ to investors on April 11th. Both Apple and Disney are aiming to be big players in the streaming wars.
Apple has had scripted projects for the service in the works for over a year, including quite a few high profiles one, but so far much of the service itself remains a source of mystery.
