Apple is never afraid to dive into markets they’ve never had experience in. I mean with the money they have (over a trillion last time I checked) they can virtually do anything and provide any service they deem fit at any point they want to. Now, it seems that Apple wants a piece of the ever-growing ‘video streaming service’ pie.
According to a report from THR, Apple has invited celebrities and media around the world to an upcoming event which will feature some of their new products. Among them, is their new state of the art video streaming service.
Per THR:
The talent and starts behind some of the tech giant’s most high-profile upcoming projects are expected to appear at its March 25 event. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who star in and executive produce the unnamed morning show drama, and Jennifer Garner and J.J. Abrams, who are re-teaming on My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, have received an invite to the event, sources familiar with the plan confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.
Once again, Apple has the money and power to be able to jump into any market they choose to. They have the type of money and power that would give the established Netflix a run for their money. It just depends how good of a product they provide and how much people are willing to pay for it. As we all know, Apple has a tendency to have a hefty price tag attached to its services and you can ask any IPhone user about that one.
Regardless, we will be patiently waiting to see what the trillion-dollar company has in store for movie and television.
