Fans of the British based supernatural-comedy series Misfits may have to keep watching reruns as the spin-off movie has been put on hold.
For the past year, reports have been swirling that show creator Howard Overman was working on a film that involved characters from all five seasons.
According to Antonia Thomas, she, Lauren Socha, Iwan Rheon, Robert Sheehan and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett were approached to feature in the film, but availability issues led to problems finalizing thee deal.
In an interview with the Radio Times, Thomas said:
“There were all sorts of talk about it. We read scripts and I think it’s now not happening. I haven’t heard anything.
I think it’s just difficult to get everybody back together.”
Thomas continued:
“Everybody is doing such different things. Maybe they think everybody has moved on, I don’t know. You never say never but I have not heard anything of it as of late.”
As far as scripts, I read a draft of one, and it was a really cool script. Getting the old gang back toghether could have been a lot of fun!
The E4 UK series centered on a group of young people who gained supernatural powers during a tragic storm while performing community service.
Misfits ended in December 2013 following a five series run.
