The New Orleans Pelicans announced that Anthony Davis will miss 1-2 weeks with a shoulder sprain. According to the Pelicans:
“The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that forward Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain. An MRI conducted by the team’s medical staff this morning confirmed the right shoulder sprain. The injury occurred at the 3:38 mark of the first quarter in last night’s game against the Miami HEAT. He is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.”
He has been bothered by the shoulder numerous times this season and throughout his career. He has already began a bit of an injury trail, not being consistently available for all the Pelicans games. Even with that, he was mentioned and deservingly, the MVP category. The Most Valuable Player to the Pelicans for sure, and without him, they will need a savior for the playoffs now. With the Oklahoma City Thunder starting to get things running, and Phoenix in a weird situation after completely changing the dynamic of their team and getting Brandon Knight, the Pelicans seem to be falling off.
With Jrue Holiday missing a minimum 3 weeks with a leg injury, and Ryan Anderson continuously dealing with injuries, losing your MVP is even worse. The team will now resort to pass Tyreke Evans the ball and get out of the way mode. Sad to hear this young team got the injury bug, but it hit them hard.
