Rising NBA Star and New Orleans Pelicans’ forward Anthony Davis is going into this season with high expectations after the dominate season he had a year ago.
The 22 year-old future MVP winner has been working on his game all summer, adding a three point shot to his arsenal.
In an interview with Slam Magazine, Davis says that he plans on shooting a lot more this season, especially from beyond the arc.
I love playing down low, but at the same time, if the opportunity is there; I’m definitely going to take (three pointers.) That’s one thing for sure that coach Gentry has told me, “Shoot the ball,” “Let it go.” I’ve been working on it and I’m very confident in my game.”
“I’ve shot three’s all my life. I didn’t really need to shoot them over the past few years as much, but I’m never going to turn down shooting threes, especially if the coach tells me he wants me to shoot them. It’s something that I’ve definitely been working on. I definitely plan on utilizing it this year.”
Davis is already one of the top players in the league. If he can have a solid three point shot to add to his already stellar defensive game and low post game, the rest of the NBA better watch out.
Remember, he’s only 22.
