Pelicans forward Anthony Davis is expected to return tonight after missing the last two games with a chest contusion. Davis has been averaging 24.2 points, fourth in the league, and 10.2 rebounds per game this year. He also leads the NBA in blocks, averaging 2.7 per game.
The Pelicans have a record of 11-12 heading into the Tuesday’s meeting with the Utah Jazz, hoping to get back to .500. The Pelicans will have to do it without Eric Gordon who continues to be out with a torn labrum and isn’t close to a return.
The (6-18) Utah Jazz have struggled recently losing their last 11 out of 12 games and now they have to head out to New Orleans to continue their 6 game road trip after losing Sunday against the Washington Wizards. The Jazz are 2-9 on the road this season which won’t do them justice having to face a Pelicans team who is 7-3 at home. For the Jazz to get the win tonight, they will need Gordon Hayward to step forward. He has shot just 39.4 percent on this road trip, after shooting 51.1 percent in Utah’s first six road games. In the first meeting with the Pelicans he scored 31 points in a 106-94 loss.
Utah Jazz’s Derrick Favors is questionable after sitting out Sunday with a sprained right ankle suffered in Friday’s loss to Miami. Check out tonight’s Pelicans vs Jazz game to see the return of “The Brow” and see how the Jazz respond losing 11 out of their last 12.
