Why, why, why, why, WHY have the New Orleans Pelicans allowed this? I simply do not understand this.
Now before I fly off the handle, I would like to give a little disclaimer. We don’t know much at the moment, all we know is that Anthony Davis has basically been injured for the past three years, the Pelicans have shut him down for the remainder of the season and he will not fly out to Brazil to play in the 2016 Summer Olympics. But there’s something under this that we don’t know about. Here’s the tweet that sent my mind racing.
Anthony Davis says he’s played through a torn labrum for three years

Simple I know, but that’s straight from Anthony Davis’ mouth. Would that suggest that Davis hid this? Surely the. Doctors would’ve clocked onto it. Did Davis say “I want to play through it” and hopefully get some Playoff basketball? Did he do it because he knew there was extra money at stake due to the “Rose Rule”?
Or, the worst possibility, the Pelicans knew about it and got Davis to play with it.
Now the last one is borderline criminal so we’ll exclude that one. Besides, if it was that Anthony Davis wouldn’t have said it to reporters. It must have been the Playoff/extra money possibility. But then again this was three years ago since the beginning of the injury. You mean to tell me that Davis knew about the money he could make at the end of this season, three years ago? Miss me with that. This will surely affect this man’s longevity and it would be a damn shame if his career is cut short due to chronic shoulder injuries.
